Welcome to the ZSI - Wildlife, GIS and Climate Change Lab

Integrating Geospatial Science, Conservation Genetics, and Ecology for a Resilient Future.

Our mission is to bridge the gap between traditional taxonomy and cutting-edge technology to safeguard India's biological heritage in an era of rapid environmental change.

Who We Are
Under the leadership of Dr. Lalit Kumar Sharma (Scientist-E & Head), our lab serves as a multidisciplinary hub where ecology meets innovation. Our core team includes distinguished Scientist Dr. Bheem Dutt Joshi, and 10+ Research Assocaites bringing together decades of expertise in landscape ecology, conservation genetics, and geospatial modeling.

Our Vision
At the ZSI Wildlife, GIS and Climate Change Lab, we don't just document diversity; we predict its future. By integrating Landscape Metrics, High-Performance Computing, and Field-Based Surveys, we provide the Department of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) with the scientific evidence needed for robust conservation planning and the restoration of India’s natural landscapes.
